Overview

Taqueria Tamazulena, nestled at 635 E Holt Blvd #B in Ontario, CA, is a vibrant spot that captures the essence of authentic Mexican street fare. This local gem specializes in a diverse taco selection, showcasing regional favorites like cabeza, buche, al pastor, and tripas, alongside hearty burritos and other classic dishes such as carnitas pork tacos and tortas. The menu appeals to those who relish bold flavors and crave variety, making it perfect for adventurous eaters and families alike.

The tacos here stand out not just for their generous portions but also for their distinctive styles. For instance, the al pastor is served soft and steamed, a preparation that might divide opinions but certainly stays true to tradition. Carne asada and asada tacos are reliable crowd-pleasers, rich with seasoning and tender meat. For something a little different, mulitas offer an exciting twist that longtime patrons rave about.

Service at Taqueria Tamazulena complements the food experience with its warmth and attentiveness. Even when arriving close to closing time with a large group, guests have been welcomed graciously, which speaks volumes about the establishment's commitment to hospitality. The atmosphere is casual and lively, with a neighborhood feel that resonates especially well on weekends when soccer games bring a communal buzz.

While parking can be limited due to the shared lot with a nearby liquor store, it’s worth a short stroll to enjoy the robust flavors this restaurant delivers. Its location in Ontario makes it an accessible destination for locals and visitors looking for true Mexican flavors outside the typical chains.

Whether you’re in the mood for a wet burrito, a botana aguachile for something refreshing, or a breakfast burrito to start the day, Taqueria Tamazulena caters to a broad palate. The automatic addition of a subtly spicy red sauce on their tacos adds another layer of depth that keeps regulars coming back for more. This is a place where authenticity meets generosity—in portion and in spirit.

First time trying this place. Carne asada tacos were pretty tasty. We also tried the pastor. It was OK if you like yours soft and boiled. I tend to like crisper versions, but that's just me. Still great food and the wait staff here are nice too. I would recommend and eat here again.

Absolutely delicious! Just so happened to stumble upon this place while driving home one night. Ordered 6 tacos off the bat and I was pleased. Try everything, it’s all amazing. Especially the red sauce they add automatically to all their tacos. Yummy. I’ll definitely be back :))

Great service, we got there 10 minutes before closing, and we were a group of 7 people. They still accepted us and served us. That was very nice of them. Most of us got tacos, they were very hefty and pretty good.

I've been coming here for years! My honest 2 cents, the food is delicious. Tacos are amazing, if you are feeling frizky and want to experiment with something different, try the mulitas! Pastor and Asada are my go-to! Aguas Frescas are bomb! Ambiance is good, you can always catch a good soccer game on the weekend. Parking may be a challenge when it is full as it is shared with the liquor store, so you may need to park on the street. There are a few homeless people outside, but just make sure to have your bulletproof vest on, and you'll be good. (It's a joke, don't cancel me.) Good luck!

I absolutely love their tacos alpastor. I don't typically put hot salsa on my tacos, but their red salsa is perfect!! The tortillas used on the tacos is yummy and closely similar to tacos in Mexico! I usually get their 3 tacos plate that comes with a drink. I like ordering ahead and picking up on the go!

Stopped by for some asada tacos and sopes, and overall, I was really impressed! The asada was flavorful and cooked just right, with a nice char that added to the taste. The tacos were solid—fresh tortillas and good toppings—but they could have used just a bit more seasoning. The sopes, on the other hand, were perfect—5/5! The masa was thick, crispy on the outside, and soft inside, soaking up all the flavors beautifully. With the asada, crema, and toppings, every bite was packed with flavor. Service was quick and friendly, and the portions were generous for the price. I’d definitely come back, especially for the sopes! Would recommend!
